The Ferrari 365 GT4 BB is the car that ended one era of the 365 series and started another for Ferrari itself. Unveiled on the Pininfarina stand at the 1971 Turin Show and produced from 1973 through 1976, it was the first road-going Ferrari with a mid-mounted flat-twelve engine, the successor to the 365 GTB/4 Daytona, and the opening chapter of the Berlinetta Boxer line that ran until the Testarossa replaced it in 1984.
Three hundred eighty-seven examples were built, with serial numbers running from SN17185 through SN19323. Designed by Leonardo Fioravanti at Pininfarina, the same hand behind the Daytona, the BB was low, streamlined, and radically different from every series-production Ferrari before it.
It was also the car Enzo Ferrari resisted building for more than a decade. That resistance, and what finally overcame it, is the story of this car.
